The Game needs MEN

by Shane

The Game explores the act of buying sex, and the subculture of prostitution and sex work with. It’s a show that’s also a real-life game.

Five volunteer men join the two actors onstage. The men have never played ‘The Game’. They have no idea what they’re about to do, they won’t be given a script.

They are doing this to be part of an event – a symbolic act – that calls us to consider the rules, language and power structures of prostitution and sex work.

The legal status of prostitution and sex work is a measure of our society and how we legislate makes a statement about our values. The Game gives audiences an insight into a world that sits uncomfortably beneath the surface of our day-to-day lives.

The Game is a radical piece of theatre that needs your participation.

We are looking for men to help in the performance of these lived experiences and testimonies.

You will be needed for one performance in the Venue that suits you. You would need to be free for one performance and you would arrive between 6 and 6.30 on the night.

You don’t need to have had experience of performing before. We are looking for men who have a genuine desire to support women and to help tell these stories. This is not a callout seeking performers.

Whilst the play deals with sensitive topics you will not be expected to do anything you are uncomfortable with and will be supported throughout the experience.

If you would like to register your interest in participating in this event please get in touch at the link below. Simply send an email and tell us you’re interested and we will take it from there.
